A tale has thrived in a world where whispers carry more weight than truth. It is a buzz about an enigmatic female alien, cast aside by society, its possible existence feeding into countless rumors. Her otherworldly appearance spreads fear and mistrust…
Go Tell It to the Mountain follows a mystery about a bird-woman living in the depth of the forest. The mountain serves as a backdrop where rumors are shaped, distorted and reborn. Whispers weave a narrative that grows on its own.
Rumors nurture this creature. Different voices guide you. She is ever-changing.

Izzy Lee graduated from the VAV-moving image in 2024. She works across video, sculpture, and installation based between Amsterdam and Seoul. The episode is a 12-minute adaptation of her graduation work.
At the heart of her practice is the figure of the “female alien,” a recurring protagonist that exists on the fringes of society. Her work explores displacement not merely as a social condition, but as a sensory experience. Through the use of fluid, shifting characters, she blurs the boundaries between reality and fiction, offering a lens into the lives of beings navigating the periphery.
Her most recent film No-da-ji Land has been selected for this year's International Film Festival Rotterdam.

This episode it part of the RietveldTV season 2025/2026: A DATE WITH THE FUTURE
This year, we start with a wide-eyed sense of promise, almost embarrassed by its own sincerity. What if we turned optimism into a marathon? What if we transformed this naïve hope into a force of radicality and bluntness? What if an absurd world fraying at its edges requires an absurd quest towards fun in the sun? This idea of optimism is not to be treated gently, it is urgent! It is a collective protest, it is a fight, it is imperative for our survival, no matter how strange, far-fetched or extraterrestrial the journey is.
The theme of this year’s RietveldTV introduces ideas that feel just a little bit alien, newly arrived, or only half-translated into our world. Strangeness is a companion, and we have never moved through this planet alone.
Let’s project utopias. Let’s have a date with the future, seduce it and make it ours.
