Ghost Ritual Machine is a code-based performance that listens to selected websites as living remnants of internet culture. Taking a website as both body and score, the system translates every signal into motion, conversation, and thermal print. Listener and responder texts unfold between distorted signal fragments, producing a collective physical record.
A dialogue is constructed from language fragments and interactions with those platforms, enabling the installation to speak through an authored voice. Each reading is bound to present moment by moment through network response, UTC time, latency, status codes, redirects, and failure. As the printers continuously take part in an ongoing performance, the work becomes an archive of “ghost” communication, tracing interactions with file-sharing and streaming platforms, and thus revealing the internet as a space of persistence, transformation and disappearance.
