"I took a first aid course at my workplace and have been thinking about the body and the language we use to describe it a lot since then. Almost like cataloguing a machine—it flattens the body into something to be assessed and fixed.
I play with that language and place it next to circus advertisements, stage directions, conversations, all related to the body and its (mal)functions. Slide projectors seem like bodies too: they make noise, they break, they need attention. I started thinking of them as fragile performers, uttering the words through their clicking, breathing engines."
