Thesis: "Simon Said."
By perceiving identity as something continuously reconstructed, I create immersive fragmented landscapes that investigate the obvious urge to transform all the time and cycles of growth and decay.
I develop lyrical narratives that build a custom mythology, anchored in mysticism, the cosmos, and snapshots of everyday life. In paintings of animals and celestial beings, photographs of daily life, found imagery, and an animation depicting a healing journey, I populate the work with recurring symbols that don’t have a fixed meaning, but serve as shifting actors.
I take the viewer through an installation, into living environments where unexpected connections emerge between the layers and images. My visual world becomes an ecosystem that can be entered, navigated, felt and re-imagined continually. It is an ongoing dialogue that mirrors the mind’s resistance to fixed meaning and its constant capacity for change.
