Thesis: How to be The Perfect Girl
“Gone are all the men on horseback” offers a series of oil paintings in which an imaginary village surfaces. In this village, many things are left unsaid. All the houses have thick walls and solid doors and all the gardens solid fences. Keys are always turned twice. There is a yellow house with a white- tiled floor that is heated, and it is so nice and so warm, even if the winters are cold. There is a father who never came home from the war and a mother who has never hugged her children. There is a daughter who´s convinced her mother is vile. The bakery sells coffee that´s so strong you have to ask for extra milk and there are two butchers but one is better than the other. There was a horse that died and right before it did, it turned its head and gave a look, one last look which pierced the soul and broke a heart.
