Rosa Meertens

My work has been about distance, emptiness and the feeling of being in between time. About my graduation work:

 

A feeling of expectation, and of spacial tension. A feeling of voyeurism, as if the room can see you too, or as if you are spying on the room when it doesn’t know you are there. When the room becomes unstable and a solid wall can become translucent, and a space that was once architectural becomes abstract. In this room I am nowhere. In this room I feel like I’m falling upwards, into the sky.
