Thesis: Am I Tasty Yet?
In my work Am I Tasty Yet you will find 'a collection of intimate terror'; several works that together visualize different parts of my thesis research. Working across film, installation, painting, photography, performance and more I try to find ways to connect the horrifying overlap of animal suffering and destructive patriarchy to the search of immersive visceral pleasure that allows us to relish without the high cost of the exhaustion of others.
The first part of the collection is an interactive table setting where a discussion takes place about consent and pleasure related to animal products. On the table there are objects that make a statement about this matter and around the room there are several works that reflect and question our way of treating bodies.
In the second part of the collection you will find roadkill related work that symbolises the core of our respect and disrespect for bodies. When do we pick them up, when do we leave them and why?
