Every year, a GRA Award (Gerrit Rietveld Academie Award) is given to promising graduates in three categories: Autonomous Arts, Applied Arts and Thesis. Judged by an independent jury, they are chosen to take part in the SELECTED exhibition later this year.

The jury members of Autonomous Arts were Heske ten Cate (artistic director at Nest) and Martijn Hendriks (visual artist). The jury members of Applied Arts were Simone Trum of Team Thursday (graphic design studio) and Willem Velthoven (founding director of Mediamatic). The jury members of Thesis were Basje Boer (writer and filmjournalist) and Dominic van den Boogerd (art critic, art historian and former director of De Ateliers).
