During Rietveld Uncut in March 2015 Francesca Buratelli presented the performance and video, 'Act 1, Seppuku'.

The performance and video were based on the idea of "staging death", as a phenomenon where death becomes aestheticised to the point of glorification and mystification. The use of theatrical attributes softens the approach of the viewer/audience and embellishes the brutality of the act, elevating it and detouring from reality. The work deals with this artificiality, by staging a musical interpretation of the Seppuku, ritual suicide.

For RietveldTV Fransesca presents an edited version of the video that was broadcasted on AT5 on April 4 & 5.
