Dear Carmo, Dijntje, Freja, Simone, and Linda,
I am not good at saying goodbye.
I am writing this letter on the eve of your graduation.
We have traveled a meaningful path together. Along the way, we have shared conversations, experienced many emotions, and reflected on questions
that matter. Our time together has been relatively short, yet so much has happened in the world around us during these years.
In moments like this, I often think of the poet William Blake.
In his poem Auguries of Innocence, he wrote:
“To see a World in a Grain of Sand
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour.”
These lines remind me that the world is present in the smallest details, and that significance is not measured by size but by attention, imagination, and
care. I believe this is something each of you has demonstrated through your work and your presence.
Against this backdrop of change, uncertainty, and upheaval, each of you has continued to reflect deeply on yourselves, your work, and the world you
inhabit. You have remained curious, thoughtful, and engaged. Even when your projects or observations seemed small in scale, they always carried the
potential to touch people and to create change. Often, it is precisely in the seemingly modest gesture, a playful work, the careful observation, or the
thoughtful intervention that new possibilities emerge.
As you leave this chapter behind and begin the next, I hope you continue to cultivate that capacity: to look closely, to remain open, and to recognise
the extraordinary possibilities hidden within ordinary moments. The world needs people who can reflect, question, create, and connect.
Congratulations on your graduation. It has been a privilege to accompany you on part sof your journey. I wish each of you courage, joy, and
inspiration for whatever lies ahead.
