Fifteen artists are starting the thirteenth edition of 3Package Deal, the talent development programme of the Amsterdam Fund for the Arts (AFK) and Bureau Broedplaatsen of the Municipality of Amsterdam. The artists are selected and mentored by fifteen coalitions formed by institutions from across Amsterdam. The Rietveld Academie is part of the Visual Art coalition together with FOAM and De Appel Arts Centre and selected Rietveld alum Sterre Pomper for the programme this year.
Sterre Pomper is an artist and researcher born and based in Amsterdam. Through her work, she builds on an archive of queer identities that is not rooted in reality but thrives on the framing of ephemeral moments and reinterpreting found footage. Her work is articulated through quilting, printing, installation, publication and writing. All serve as metaphors for memory processes, and create a fictional work infused with imaginary characters, whether or not inspired by real events.
Thanks to the 3Package Deal, the participants can fully focus in 2026 on the next step in their practice: creating new work or conducting research. In November, the participants will present their work during the International Art Talent Festival, the programme’s final event.
