The OBSESSED! Jewellery Festival returns for its fifth edition with this year’s theme, Glow-Up, embracing the power of transformation – both inside and out – through the ritual of adornment. The Jewellery—Linking Bodies department of the Gerrit Rietveld Academie will be participating with the exhibition What Walked In.
What Walked In is questioning how we pass through architecturally, from inside to outside. How do we make contact materially with meaning – via ritual, prayer, storytelling, gaming? And how are ideas around value, gender and the body passed on, upheld and reinforced?
What Walked In is an exhibition of new jewellery and sculpture from the Jewellery—Linking Bodies department of the Gerrit Rietveld Academie that thinks into the concept of the threshold.
The exhibition will be held in the Pavilion at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie on:
Thurs. November 6, 17:00-19:00 (opening)
Fri. November 7, 10:00-21:45
Sat. November 8, 11:30 -17:00

Obsessed! continues as an initiative by Current Obsession Magazine to link artists, galleries and institutions across the Netherlands and Belgium, through jewellery-related events that incorporate every format from digital adornment to films to physical objects — as ever, exploring jewellery as a vessel for meaning, empowerment and belonging.
