From 30 April to 4 May, the KunstRAI took place in Amsterdam, where 22 recent Rietveld alumni showed their work. The exhibition entitled Boundaries of Belonging(s), curated by Jimena Casas and Mariken Overdijk, showed a diverse range of disciplines - from painting and photography to installation, video, textiles and performance. Based on Amsterdam's 750th anniversary, the artists showed work that interprets the city in new ways. For some of them, this was a first introduction to the exhibition and gallery world, an experience that was incredibly valuable for the makers. Tijmen Steenvoorden, who exhibited his work Amsterdam Noord, says: "It shows another part of the art world that is not very present at the Rietveld itself.
