On behalf of the Municipality of Amstelveen, we warmly invite you to participate in the 2025 Council Art Prize – a special award for one of the graduating students of the Gerrit Rietveld Academie.
For the third year in a row, we are presenting this prize to a promising student and their graduation work. The winner will receive a free studio for one year in one of our studio buildings in Amstelveen: Ateliers 2005 or A24.
The application deadline is 1 June 2025

Wednesday, 2 July (10:00 – 16:00):
During the Graduation Show, the Visual Arts Advisory Committee (ABK) will visit the academy to view the work of participating students in person and select the winner.
Thursday, 10 July (from 17:30):
The festive award ceremony for the Council Art Prize will take place at Museum JAN (Dorpsstraat 50, Amstelveen). This evening is a great opportunity to connect with the art and cultural sector in Amstelveen.
Even if you don’t win the prize, participating is still worthwhile. The award event is an inspiring networking opportunity; past participants have connected with local artists and institutions, often leading to exciting collaborations. As a graduate, you can also apply for a municipal studio at attractive rental rates.
