Jeroen van Kooten is currently programme manager at the Commissariaat voor de Media, which is committed to a reliable and diverse media offering for everyone. In this role, he provides direction and guidance to the strategic approach focused on organization-wide themes in the field of optimizing information management, promoting organizational growth and rolling out a renewed supervision strategy.

Previously, Jeroen was manager of operations at PHION, a producer of live symphonic music, and head of finance and control at the NTR.

He is currently a member of the Supervisory Board of the Verkadefabriek in Den Bosch and of the Zaltbommel Cultural Cluster. Until recently he was a board member of the Impressariaat Kunsten of Fontys Academy of the Arts.

Jeroen van Kooten: ‘I have a broad interest and background in art, culture, education and bring specific knowledge and expertise in the field of business operations, finance & control and sustainability. In addition, I am intrinsically motivated to contribute to the further development of the Gerrit Rietveld Academie. Especially when we are faced with challenges in conducting healthy business operations in times of (political) impoverishment and challenges in the field of sustainability. And all that without sacrificing the quality of research and education! I would like to contribute to a constructive, transparent and above all confidential relationship between the Board and the Supervisory Board’.

The Participatory Council is very pleased with the nominated candidate. Ea Polman (chair of the Participation Council): ‘After a careful application process, the Participatory Council concluded that Jeroen van Kooten is the most suitable candidate. We were impressed with his knowledge and experience across our assessment criteria, including finance, sustainability, leadership skills, education/arts and overall impression. We believe that Jeroen will be a valuable addition to our academy, especially in the areas of finance and the ministry'.

The Supervisory Board also supports the nomination of the participation council. Judith van Kranendonk (chair of the Supervisory Board): ‘In addition to a cultural interest and background, Jeroen van Kooten brings a solid operational and business contribution. The latter comes in handy as a member of the audit committee of the Supervisory Board. We warmly welcome our new colleague and wish him much success and enjoyment in the coming years at the Rietveld Academy.’
