At arbejde andetsteds (offshore) – to work elsewhere – gathers a series of works, all based on time-consuming techniques and the reproduction of forms. They all demand repetitive labour and are eventually transported, stored in boxes in basements, and shipped to work elsewhere, offshore, with varying possibilities of recalls and disappearances (both physically and in terms of memory). The installation combines two larger sculptures with smaller works shaped by my interest in the tensions between art and craftsmanship, between production and value, and between the making of works and their subsequent storage (again, both physically and in terms of memory). These tensions are present in very practical terms: as objects that occupy space, as individual and collective readings, and as recollections of motifs, things, ideas, and histories. Through my use of materials (glass and beeswax), as well as recognizable forms and motifs (the bell and the landscape), go out of function, drawing attention to the ways in which materials themselves negotiate these tensions.
