Thesis: Obsessed: Divas as a Blueprint for a Queer Future

Why are you SO OBSESSED?!!

Growing up queer in a dominant heternormative culture, worshipping divas was my escape. The strong diva image offered me a place to be me. In return, this collection brings these diva fantasies back to life, while it reclaims and “campifies” the heteronormative vocabulary I was escaping from. Here, rejection of function, excess and controversy become the tools to challenge gendered stereotypes and create a new diva reality. One that puts no limits to what you can and should be.

So why say diva like it’s a bad thing? Just play a diva track, put on your tiniest thong and highest heels and get ready to be SO OBSESSED!
