Thesis: Monsters - A Category of Crisis
My practice explores the construction of perception and fluidity of memory, hereby focusing on childhood archetypes. I am fascinated by the formation of both personal and collective history, creating work that oscillates between the elemental—from the dirt beneath to the ephemeral clouds above. In a somatic dialogue with clay, wood, and steel, I create characters that possess an archaic presence; they are at once physically grounded and dreamlike.
