Thesis: I found myself in a strange land : The architecture of exception and expansion
Urban Mythologies : Myth 1 : hydrological Systems is a research-based film and installation exploring the buried rivers, streams, and watersheds of Athens. Through a journey structured around the seven days of the Holy Week, the work moves between hydrology, urban history, mythology, and personal memory, tracing the relationship between water and the city that grew over it.
Combining field research, interviews, archival material, and on-site documentation, the project investigates how the systematic burial of natural water systems has shaped contemporary Athens and contributed to its increasing vulnerability to floods, heat, and environmental change. At its core, the work asks what a city remembers, what it chooses to forget, and what resurfaces when the landscape beneath it can no longer remain hidden.
