Thesis: Sounds Like Home

Throughout my life, I have lived with housing insecurity. I’ve been evicted due to redevelopment and forced to move between 16 different houses. Each relocation brought not only physical instability but also a growing sense of displacement and uncertainty. Unlike buildings, sound stayed longer. It offers an intimate way to re-enter space through memory, sensation, and presence. My work explores the idea of home and memory using spatial sound, graphic notation, and documentary film. Together, these works reflect on how memories of domestic spaces persist in individuals and communities, offering an experiential archive of the homes I once lived in, now gone yet still alive in my memory.
