Letter to Letters

Letters have never felt neutral, ‘i’ was always acidic, ‘m’ comfortable, ‘z’ rare like a gem stone, ‘s’ dangerous, ‘e’ friendly…Letters used to be shapes, unlinked to sounds. Advertisements on the streets, books, notes were solid rocks  covered with impervious meaning. Collection of vernacular characters gleaned in public spaces; anonymous typographies, rendered in an analog poster. This collection almost feels like a door to understanding the fetish of letters, the precision of it. I have to understand how an ‘M’ can be sexy; the mathematics of the sensuality of letters.
