Thesis: Elementalisme

Membrane

"Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.”

  • Aristotle

I would describe my work as elemental: I unveil the essence of a topic, making it both direct and ambiguous. I’m interested in existence; the physical world and “the human condition”- the two often being intertwined. I use mainly video installations and occasionally photography to translate concepts visually, like in infographics: abstracted and re-materialized. A synthesis of form and expression.

In 'Membrane' I look for boundaries and combine our undeniable state of existing with the longing for cover. To hide and feel safe, or to forget and temporarily disappear: escapist daydreams.
